The History of Joma

Or: How a small Spanish shoemaker became an international sports brand.

Joma didn’t begin as a global football name. The company was founded in Spain in 1965, initially producing footwear before turning its focus toward sports shoes.

By the late 1960s, Joma had moved decisively into athletic footwear — a shift that would shape the brand for decades to come.

From there, Joma expanded through football, futsal, running, tennis, padel, volleyball, and other sports, building its reputation through product development, club partnerships, and international distribution.

Over time, Joma grew from a Spanish footwear company into an international sports brand with distribution across markets worldwide.

Today, the brand is known especially well in football and futsal, with products used from grassroots levels through professional competition.

In other words: Joma started small, went global, and built its reputation one well-made sports product at a time.

And yes — we proudly carry their gear at SGP.
